Summary

Scotland's only commercial gold-silver mine provides a section through a gold-sulphide bearing quartz vein, only a handful of which have been identified in the UK. The up to several metres wide vein is well exposed in the workings. The mineralisation also contains chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena.
